Hi everyone!
Welcome to the women's reading group! We're going to be reading the book of Luke from now until Easter, hope you can join us! Luke is a great book, and if you're not familiar with it, I think you'll enjoy the way Luke tells about the life of Jesus. He wrote the book for an audience that had no Jewish background, which makes it very easy to get into.
There are 23 days til Easter (Good Friday is on April 2nd), and 24 chapters in Luke, so we're going to read a chapter a day, starting tomorrow March 10th. You can read along each day in your Bible, or you can read along on this blog, as I'll be posting the chapters each day. No prior knowledge of the Bible is needed, this is not a formal Bible study, just a chance to read a book with others. We'll try to get together as a group a couple times, to read a chapter together and discuss the book. But mainly this group will be a way to help you focus your reading individually. If you can't make the group time, think about getting together to read with someone at a time that works for you!
Feel free to leave comments on the blog if you find something in your reading that stands out to you. And invite your friends to join us! The group is open to everyone!
Happy reading!

1) the intro is interesting on why Luke wanted to write this account. He says he wanted to be very thorough and scientific about it.
ReplyDelete2) the virgin birth-- hard to believe, yes. But then again Why not? Like it says v37 "For nothing is impossible with God."
3)The child John. I wonder what it looked like that "the Lord's hand was with him" v66. Maybe he was a very wise and mature child?

What a great idea! I won't be able to make group time - but I'll be following along from San Diego.
